Just past Mt Irvine at the western end of Stonehaven Bay, Grafton Beach, is the community of Pleasant Prospect centered on the village green called Triangle Square. It's a busy area packed with bars, eating places, vendors and a small supermarket. Here is where Tobago's newest restaurant / bar is to be found , PLEASANT PROSPECT CAFÉ , overlooking the Square and just off the main road. Spacious and airy, walls painted with under - water scenes, tiled table tops and mahogany chairs is where casual elegance is at its best. The friendly staff will tempt you with the light and fresh appetizers such as the Seafood Crepes or Trini Bruschetta, a local take on the Italian Original, lightly toasted Coconut Bake topped with salt fish Buljol. Perhaps you may be more inclined to sample one of the delicious main courses, Grilled Fresh Catch of the Day served with a Shallot Vinaigrette of Jumbo Shrimp Tempura with an Oyster Ginger Sauce. There is also a Classic Café Burger served with all the trimmings for the person with a smaller appetite. The Café lives up to its name, welcoming patrons who simply want to sit a while over a freshly brewed cup of coffee perhaps with a slice of house-made Cheese Cake or sip an evening cocktail on the porch while listening to the background music as you take in the bustle of the village life below.
